Our Utilities Consultancy team is built around three integrated specialisms: Commercial management, Project Delivery, and Technical/Regulatory service.
As part of the UK Utilities leadership group, the Project Delivery function provides strategic advice and project management services across regulated and non-regulated utility environments, supporting high-value infrastructure and digital asset projects.
A Project Manager at RLB is responsible for seeing a project through the initial planning stages to completion.
Their main task is to break down projects into stages, taking responsibility for monitoring and managing the programme, cost, quality, and risk of each stage of the project.
Due to continued growth within the Utilities Consultancy team, we are seeking an Associate Project Manager with proven leadership and project delivery experience within the sector to strengthen the division.
The role will focus on delivering a range of projects for various high‑profile clients in the UK along with leadership responsibilities across people, projects and business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of projects from feasibility through to completion and post‑handover within the Utilities sector
- Working knowledge of various forms of building contracts.
- Key account management including developing client accounts and business development.
- People management responsibilities.
- Leadership across people, projects and business.
- Preparation of progress reports and presentation at monthly client meetings.
- Contribute to the financial performance of projects and the wider business, including revenue and profitability.
- Promote efficiency, effectiveness and best practice across projects and teams.
- Keep up to date with current thinking and best practice within the discipline.
- Work closely with clients, contractors and project teams to deliver projects successfully and on budget.
- Comply with established Commercial, Procurement, Contractual strategies.
- To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures.
- Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Construction Project Management or similar construction related technical discipline.
- Chartered / Professionally Qualified (MCIOB, MRICS or equivalent)
Experience
- Previously employed by a consultancy or client in a similar role.
- Experience of utilities packages essential.
