Description:
Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) has been appointed as a delivery partner for a major UK development programme, currently operating under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). The programme includes infrastructure, vertical development and complex design and construction interfaces. RLB’s commission spans four core functions:
- Employer’s Agent / Project Manager – Client’s lead project representative
- Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant – Leads cost and commercial management
- Technical Services – Provides technical governance and assurance
- Project Superintendent – Client’s on-site construction representative
We are seeking a BIM Coordinator to support the successful delivery of this project. The purpose of the role is to ensure that building information models are geometrically coordinated across the project and in accordance with the client’s requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the client’s requirements related to Building Information Modelling (BIM)
- Production and maintenance of a BIM Execution Plan (including Federation Strategy), Detailed Responsibility Matrix and Mobilization Plan
- Define coordination tolerances
- Configuration of Autodesk Navisworks in line with current best practice
- Model federation and clash detection (hard and soft clashes) using Autodesk Navisworks
- Issue management using Autodesk Forma
- Production of clash detection reports as required
- Maintenance of relevant clash detection Folders and Packages on Autodesk Forma
- Review and feedback to delivery teams on their Task Information Delivery Plans to ensure it reflects the proposed models for the project
- Ensure files uploaded to Autodesk Forma have file names and descriptions match the Task Information Delivery Plans
- Record planned deliverables within a Task Information Delivery Plan
- Deliver training related to clash detection and issue management as required
- Identify risks associated with delivery and communicate to the Risk Manager
- Liaise with the Data Management Lead and other project BIM Coordinators to ensure coordination between projects as part of the wider programme
- Support the BIM model-based coordination and geometric assurance activities
- Support change control activities
- Interface with Client Representative, PMO, Interface Managers, Delivery Teams, Document Control and Technical Services
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications:
- Relevant Degree in a built environment or digital discipline or significant experience supported by vocational qualifications.
Experience:
- BIM Coordination role on large construction programmes/projects, including buildings and infrastructure/civils elements
- Strong knowledge and experience of using Autodesk Navisworks and Autodesk Forma (previously Autodesk Construction Cloud)
- Experience of running regular BIM Coordination meetings
- Strong knowledge of working through RIBA 3-5 Design Stage Reviews
- Strong experience working in a UK Design and Build environment
- Knowledge of how buildings/infrastructure are constructed to support buildability considerations
- Good communication skills
- Able to work confidently with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Ability to work independently
