As a Graduate Health and Safety Consultant, you will play an essential role in creating safer spaces and ensuring that people’s safety remains a top priority. In this role, you will explore how construction projects and properties are designed, managed, and maintained with safety in mind. You will gain hands-on experience, learning how to identify and mitigate risks while supporting clients in meeting legal and regulatory standards. Role Responsibilities
- Support clients by providing guidance on meeting legal obligations, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
- Assist in identifying and mitigating risks related to construction projects, maintenance activities, and property management.
- Risk Assessments and Site Safety
- Conduct risk assessments and on-site safety inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Evaluate and document hazards, such as working at heights, asbestos management, and general site conditions.
- Prepare, review, and maintain essential Health and Safety documentation for clients.
- Ensure all records align with regulatory and best practice standards.
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to embed safety practices into project planning and execution.
- Provide input on designing safe and compliant buildings that meet regulatory and industry standards.
- Work on building key professional skills, including problem-solving, time management, effective communication, and stakeholder management.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
- A degree in a construction-related discipline, such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a similar field.
- A genuine interest in Health and Safety and a desire to contribute to safe building practices.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations, including CDM and/or Building Safety.
- Any previous experience (internships, placements, or projects) in construction, property, or risk management.
