Key Responsibilities
Fire Engineers play a pivotal role in keeping people safe. They use science and engineering to understand how a fire behaves and design buildings to protect lives in the event a fire breaks out. Every building is different and fire engineers are problem solvers who think creatively, especially on complex projects such as skyscrapers, hospitals or transport hubs. As a Graduate Fire Engineer, you will support our experienced fire engineering team in delivering high-quality fire strategies and technical advice. You will be involved in all stages of a project—from concept design to construction—ensuring that fire safety is integrated into the design and build process. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to join a supportive team, gain hands-on experience, and develop a professional career in fire engineering through mentoring, training, and ongoing development.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist in developing fire safety strategies and reports for new and existing buildings in accordance with UK regulations and international codes.
- Conduct fire engineering calculations, including means of escape, smoke control, and structural fire protection.
- Support the use of computational tools such as CFD and evacuation modelling software.
- Contribute to fire risk assessments, audits, and site inspections.
- Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams and external clients, architects, and building control bodies.
- Keep up to date with changes in fire safety legislation and technical standards.
- Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions and graduate development programs.
Qualifications
A degree (or pending) in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Services, or a related STEM discipline.
