Role Overview We are seeking a focused and reliable Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of Mechanical building services design on diverse projects, working closely with senior engineers, multidisciplinary colleagues, and clients to deliver robust, coordinated and compliant design solutions. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day mechanical engineering design from feasibility to construction, producing calculations, coordinating mechanical systems and developing technical drawings and specifications.

Role Responsibilities

  • Undertake mechanical engineering design for building services projects, including heating, ventilation, cooling and domestic water systems
  • Prepare and check calculations, drawings and specifications for concept, developed and technical design stages
  • Coordinate mechanical services with other disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, sustainability)
  • Work closely with project leads and senior engineers to ensure technical compliance and quality assurance
  • Support the development of design packages for tender and construction, including responding to contractor queries
  • Contribute to internal technical reviews and team knowledge sharing
  • Use tools such as IES, AutoCAD and Revit to develop coordinated and accurate design outputs
  • Carry out surveys of buildings to review and provide commentary on existing mechanical installations
  • Attend site during construction to provide mechanical construction monitoring duties

Candidate Profile

  • Qualifications: Degree‑qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, ideally working towards professional registration (CIBSE or IMechE)
  • Experience: Track record in a similar role, project design responsibility from feasibility through to detailed design and construction, use of relevant MS and design software
