Role Overview
The logistics and manufacturing industry is a crucial component of the UK economy, playing a vital role in the production and distribution of goods across the country and around the world, and we know warehouses are now often among the world’s most sophisticated and technology-rich assets. Our clients receive comprehensive advice through the entire life cycle of their assets; from conceptualisation to realisation, to operation, and eventual disposal. Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for an experienced Cost Manager to take responsibility for key projects within the logistics and manufacturing sector, a buoyant sector for RLB and our numerous clients, and one that is experiencing massive growth. We are looking for future leaders to carry the sector forward. You will be joining an established and supportive team of cost management professionals, with extensive and diverse experience.
Responsibilities
- Supporting senior cost manager / associate on projects (multi-unit logistics developments).
- Pre and Post contract Quantity Surveying duties.
- Involvement in Pre-Construction cost planning and estimating.
- Involvement in Post contract financial management.
- The candidate will be an integral part of a team that is accountable for the commercial and contractual performance of a project.
- Building and maintaining client relationships.
- To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar construction related technical discipline.
- MRICS or studying towards.
- Previously employed by a consultancy or contractor in a similar role.
- Some experience of industrial, manufacturing, logistics projects desirable.
- Experience in site earthworks, utilities, highways, and vertical build desirable.
- Some experience / knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
- A track record of working with teams to prioritise workloads and deliver to deadlines.
- Recognised as a client focused, positive collaborator who shares knowledge freely and offers support to their peers and seniors.
- Recognised as a team player with a strong willingness to learn.
- Demonstrates a positive and proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.
