We are currently recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join a client focused team within our Birmingham office, to work across various sectors, including public, environmental, commercial, education etc. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive Electrical Engineer who is familiar with surveying electrical building infrastructure, willing to undertake design from RIBA Stages 0-4 and is comfortable in providing technical advice to clients throughout the construction stage of a project. The successful candidate will be willing to support our existing team with developing and growing the in-region M&E service to align with our business plan.
Role Responsibilities
- Undertake project feasibility studies
- Detailed technical design of Electrical Services
- Produce technical drawings
- Produce full electrical tender packages
- Monitor electrical works on site and reporting on conformity and quality
- Undertake electrical condition surveys
- Undertake pre-acquisition, dilapidation, PPM surveys
- Undertake technical advisor roles to support clients and develop contractor designs
- Carrying out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
- Comply with established commercial/procurement/contractual strategies
- To comply with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
- Advising, liaising and working closely with internal project teams
- Developing Commercial Strategies
Candidate Profile
The Ideal Candidate Will Be Delivering Customer Service Excellence, Demonstrate a Positive Proactive Approach To The Role With Good Commercial Results And Encompass a Realistic Selection Of The Following Qualifications And Attributes:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service, communication and client/external interface skills
- Ability to monitor electrical works on site
- Be proficient in the use of AutoCAD
- Well organised, diligent, proactive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
- Committed to support developing our in-region M&E service offering
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to travel depending on project locations. Majority of work will be in the Midlands
Qualifications
- BSc Electrical Engineering degree (as a minimum)
- Recognised M&E qualification
- Chartered or willing to obtain MCIBSE (or equivalent)
Experience
- Track record in a similar role or site engineering
- An understanding of electrical design experience from RIBA 0-4
- Asset surveying, identification, age/remaining life estimation
- Technical due diligence work
- Use of technology, such as tablets, in previous roles
- Use of relevant software such as CAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Package
- REVIT experience would be beneficial but not essential
