Due to significant growth, our client is seeking an EHV Cable Engineering Manager to join their team, delivering UK wide critical energy, power, water, telecoms and social infrastructure projects. On offer is a full time staff role, hybrid working and career progression.

Responsibilities

The Role

  • Lead HV cable design coordination, working with electrical, civil and CAD resources to deliver across multiple projects, ensuring timely preparation of quality deliverables within the allocated program and budget.
  • Play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and bolstering technical credibility whilst delivering critical energy, power, water, telecoms and social infrastructure projects.

Our client's infrastructure services company provides major transmission and distribution capabilities across power engineering, construction and asset optimisation, supporting grid resilience and the transition to a low-carbon energy system.

Duties (in brief)

  • Manage engineering processes and deliverables across cable projects.
  • Ensure engineering management including updates, change control and risk management.
  • Approve deliverables and complete design tasks where required.
  • Ensure constructability and safety by design.
  • Provide guidance to help develop team members.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent preferred.
  • Substantial HV cable design experience.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding health and safety impacts on cable construction.

Highly sought:

  • Experience with British/European design standards.
  • Cable construction planning and delivery experience.
  • Engineering management experience.
  • Tendering support experience.
  • Experience presenting technical outputs.

  • Fluent English and ability to work in dispersed teams.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Be prepared for some travel.
  • Ideally living near Central Scotland or South of England, however our client has offices throughout the UK.
