The Producer role at Ride Shotgun is responsible for managing and coordinating multi-channel content production projects from brief to final delivery. Working across the full spectrum of smart production formats including video, photography, CGI, animation, VFX, and (but not limited to) Virtual Production. The Producer ensures that each project runs smoothly, on time, and to the highest creative and technical standards. Working closely with internal teams, external partners, and clients, the Producer acts as the central point of coordination to ensure smooth workflows across all stages of production.
A successful Producer balances the creative vision with practical delivery, keeping communication clear, risks managed, and outcomes aligned with business objectives to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of production processes, and the ability to stay calm and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end management of content production projects from brief to delivery - quoting, project tracking and reporting of projects.
- Work with the team and manage your own production projects of varying scales and complexity, ensuring successful outcomes while balancing quality, cost, and time constraints for live-action, CGI, animation, photography, VFX, and virtual production projects.
- Serve as the main point of contact between client services, creative teams, and production crew, ensuring consistent communication and smooth project progression.
- Champion modular content strategies, helping clients get more from their budgets through intelligent asset planning, repurposing, and cross-platform adaptation.
- Ensure all productions adhere to quality standards, legal and compliance regulations, and health & safety guidelines.
- Address logistical and operational challenges, providing leadership and solutions to keep projects on track and within budget.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop effective, efficient, and high-quality production solutions for multi-format campaigns including those requiring hybrid content delivery across CGI, stills, video, and digital.
- Evaluate the use of emerging tools like virtual production, remote shooting, and AI-assisted workflows to enhance production quality, speed, and sustainability.
Project Scoping & Delivery
- Scope production solutions that align creative ambition with budget, timelines, and client goals.
- Provide innovative recommendations based on the full breadth of production capabilities.
- Develop clear, realistic project schedules and timelines, ensuring smooth coordination across all departments and stakeholders, and setting a high standard of excellence for the production team.
- Demonstrate exceptional time management skills, proactively planning, prioritising, and managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and expectations are met.
- Work with the resource team to ensure the right people and materials are in place for each project.
- Monitor and adjust resource needs to meet evolving project demands.
- Demonstrate a proactive, solutions-driven approach to managing risks, resolving issues, and adapting to changing project needs.
- Support the wider team in overcoming obstacles to keep projects on track.
- Oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring a high standard of quality at each stage.
- Ensure accurate post-project financial reconciliation, including the evaluation of expenses, supplier costs, and project profitability for final reporting.
- Work closely with the creative, client services, and tech teams to ensure alignment and a shared understanding of production goals.
- Lead pre-production meetings (PPMs), ensuring briefing documents are clear and thorough, and that everyone involved understands their roles and responsibilities.
- Lead and facilitate project debriefs to assess outcomes, highlight successes, and implement improvements for future projects.
- Encourage team reflection and the sharing of knowledge to continuously enhance production practices.
- Maintain a deep understanding of production costs, commercial objectives, and business goals.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers and partners to optimise value and manage costs effectively while safeguarding profitability.
- Negotiate effectively with suppliers and vendors, always ensuring the best balance of value, quality, and delivery.

- Smart Production Expertise: Comfortable working within tech-forward production models virtual production stages, hybrid pipelines, etc. and advising on their best application.
- Effective Time Management & Prioritisation: Excellent at juggling multiple priorities, ensuring deadlines are met, and working efficiently under pressure.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making: Exceptional at identifying issues and finding effective solutions, with the ability to make decisions quickly and under pressure to ensure project success.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on delivering high-quality work while balancing multiple aspects of production, with a keen eye for detail at every stage.
- Industry Knowledge & Best Practices: In-depth knowledge of production workflows, from pre-production through to post-production, and familiarity with industry-standard tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Legal & Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of legal, compliance, and health & safety regulations in production environments.
Location and working hours
This role will be based from either our Leeds office, 9am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. The role is open to hybrid working. Occasional travel to our other offices may be required.
