The predicted salary is between 45000 - 55000 € per year.

As the Lead Motion Designer and Editor, you are passionate about storytelling through moving image in all forms including edit, animation, VFX and CGI. You will be confident in the delivery of compelling brand films, TVC’s and short form social films. You will head up the post motion department, managing a team of specialists whilst keeping a hands-on role. You approach the art of editing with imagination and innovation whilst ensuring the highest quality is met at all times. Our clients and their customers live and breathe a cross channel retail world; it’s complex, sometimes confusing and the goal of the motion team is to help enhance their experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Input into Smart Production briefs to ensure the right approach is taken based on the brief.
  • Collaborate with the creative team and use own initiative to deliver work with impact.
  • Deliver high quality motion assets as efficiently as possible, with a very strong attention to detail.
  • Monitor the quality of output and provide feedback to both permanent team and freelancers to ensure work is delivered to the agreed standard, on time and client satisfaction is maintained by QC’ing all work.
  • Mentor and develop the post-production department.
  • Help to source the best quality new freelancers and maintain robust ways of working.
  • General management of the motion suite and ensure all software and equipment is appropriate.
  • Support the wider production team with the development and implementation of solid post-production processes and practices.
  • Be the technical ‘go to’ for the production team.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and advancements to drive new innovative ways of working.
  • Maintain a drive to succeed and desire to improve, continually develop and enhance the quality of the work we produce.

Required skills:

  • A strong, professional and unique portfolio of work showcasing a wide range of projects in each area of motion graphics, animation and video editing.
  • Expert knowledge of video editing techniques with a high level of skill in motion graphics.
  • Exceptional knowledge across the leading visual effects programs, such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Cinema4D and the latest plugins.
  • Strong knowledge of colour grading, track sourcing and sound mixing.
  • Highly creative and collaborative.
  • Previous experience managing a team.
  • Methodical approach to work with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask.
  • Experience of a wide range of workflows.
  • Excellent organisation and file structure skills for managing projects from project start to delivery, including versioning and rendering, confident delivering across a range of platforms.

Location and working hours:

This role will be based from our Leeds office, 9am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional travel to our other offices may be required.
