Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities
As a Product Development Lead, you will manage the development, improvement and lifecycle of a portfolio of learning and development products aligned to our global curriculum. Working closely with the Head of Learning Design & Development and Portfolio Managers, you will ensure the portfolio is market‑relevant, commercially viable and aligned to RICS strategic priorities. This role combines product development, project management, stakeholder collaboration and commercial insight to deliver high‑quality learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the product development plan and pipeline for your designated surveying areas, ensuring delivery against timelines and strategic priorities.
- Gather market insight and data with Knowledge & Practice and market teams to identify skills needs and emerging trends.
- Lead the development, update and maintenance of learning products, ensuring quality, relevance and commercial viability.
- Build detailed product briefs that map learning and technical needs, incorporating narrative, budgets and customer insight.
- Work with Marketing to plan and support successful go‑to‑market activity.
- Provide pre‑sales product expertise and support business development opportunities through solution demonstrations and technical consultation.
- Collaborate with instructional designers, developers, content teams, external experts and in‑market stakeholders to deliver high‑quality product solutions.
- Ensure products meet RICS performance standards, deliver excellent customer experience and achieve targeted profitability.
- Review learner feedback and performance data to inform continuous improvement and product portfolio reviews.
About You
You are an experienced product development professional with a strong understanding of learning products, commercial training or consultancy. You combine analytical thinking, commercial acumen and excellent stakeholder skills with confidence managing multiple product development projects.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in product development and management within learning, training or professional development environments.
- Ability to contract and manage external writers, subject matter experts and contributors.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, able to build collaborative relationships with global stakeholders.
- Experience managing P&Ls, with strong commercial awareness and business development capability.
- Proven experience working with designers and developers on digital or online learning products.
- Strong analytical, planning and project management skills, with the ability to deliver on time and to budget.
- Culturally aware, able to work effectively with diverse global teams; knowledge of the surveying/real estate sector is desirable.
