Support Governance and Strategic Leadership at the Heart of a Global Organisation
RICS is the global professional body for the Built and Natural Environment. With over 140,000 members in nearly 150 countries, we set internationally recognised standards, support trusted professional development, and advocate for the profession worldwide. Our work helps shape resilient communities, sustainable development, and informed decision-making – from city skylines to green spaces.
As part of our ongoing evolution, we are strengthening governance and member engagement. This role sits at the centre of that journey, supporting the President and Governing Council to lead with confidence, influence key decisions, and deliver meaningful value to members globally.
About the Role
This is a trusted, high-impact role offering exceptional exposure to governance, strategic delivery, and member engagement. Working closely with the President and Governing Council, you will ensure they are informed, connected, and empowered to lead effectively. You’ll coordinate priorities, manage relationships, and translate decisions into action that drives organisational impact.
You’ll also champion a member-first ethos, ensuring governance reflects member needs and delivers a consistent, high-quality experience. This is a rare opportunity to collaborate with senior leaders, shape governance strategy, and play a meaningful role in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the key conduit between the Governing Council and the organisation, ensuring timely updates on strategic initiatives.
- Support the President in championing RICS’ reputation and member priorities through impactful engagements and communications.
- Work with the President to strategically shape the annual programme for the Presidential Team.
- Manage operations of the Presidential Team, including diaries, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain oversight of governance queries and member issues, ensuring resolution and follow-through.
- Build strong relationships with regional boards and senior volunteers to ensure alignment and recognition.
About You
You bring experience in governance or board-level coordination, ideally within a membership or regulated environment. You’re confident in navigating complex stakeholder landscapes, shaping tasks independently, and communicating with clarity and influence. You anticipate challenges, connect the dots across trams, and help maintain momentum on what matters most.
