Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Regulatory Enforcement team, you will support the preparation and progression of regulatory matters, helping colleagues to manage case information, documentation and evidence effectively. This is an opportunity for someone who is interested in building a legal career and wants to gain practical experience supporting regulatory casework in a professional body. You will build a strong foundation in legal support, working closely with experienced colleagues and contributing to activity that helps uphold professional standards. The role offers exposure to a broad range of legal support activity, including case preparation, document management, liaising with external counsel and internal lawyers, witness coordination and hearing support. You will play an important part in keeping matters organised, accurate and moving forward. This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham, with 60% of your time spent in the office and 40% remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Support lawyers and colleagues with the preparation and progression of regulatory matters
- Organise case information, evidence, witness details and supporting documentation
- Prepare and maintain accurate case files, records and bundles
- Help coordinate hearings, meetings and related case activity
- Track actions, deadlines and follow ups to help keep matters on schedule
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and relevant parties to gather information and updates
- Handle sensitive information appropriately and maintain accurate records
- Contribute to effective team administration and continuous improvement of working practices
About You
You bring a practical, organised and reliable approach, with a genuine interest in developing your legal career. You may be building your legal experience, but you understand that effective legal support relies on accuracy, consistency and attention to detail. You enjoy working through information carefully, keeping records organised and helping others move matters forward. You will be self-motivated, curious and willing to learn. You will be comfortable taking ownership of practical legal support activity and working as part of a small team where reliability, judgement and a positive attitude matter.
Qualifications
- Education to degree level, with preference given to candidates with a law degree and/or relevant legal experience
- An interest in regulatory, legal or professional standards work
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- Confidence working with documentation, records and case information
- The ability to follow processes and manage practical tasks accurately and consistently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive approach to follow up and administration
- The ability to work independently while keeping others updated
- Good judgement when handling sensitive or confidential information
- Confidence using IT systems and digital tools, including Excel, Adobe and Microsoft Copilot
- Drive, ambition and a genuine interest in building a legal career
