Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities

As a PR Executive, you will support the delivery of RICS’ media relations and reputation management activity. Reporting to the Global Media Officer, you will help coordinate media enquiries, draft press materials, manage interviews and monitor coverage to ensure RICS maintains a consistent and authoritative external presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to incoming media enquiries, ensuring timely, accurate and professional communication.
  • Monitor news and industry coverage, producing clear summaries and insight reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Support press briefings and interviews, preparing briefing materials and coordinating logistics for spokespeople.
  • Draft and contribute to press releases, media statements and reactive communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media contacts and external communications partners.
  • Keep internal teams informed of emerging issues, risks and opportunities arising from media activity.

About You

You are an organised and proactive communications professional with strong writing skills and the ability to build trusted media relationships. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy working with journalists and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and composure.

  • Experience working in media relations or PR, ideally within the built environment or a professional/technical sector.
  • Strong writing skills with proven experience drafting press releases, statements or external communications.
  • Confident engaging directly with journalists and coordinating media interviews.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time‑sensitive activity and detailed logistics.
  • Skilled at monitoring media coverage and producing concise, insightful reports.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills, comfortable working with senior stakeholders and as part of a collaborative communications team.
