What you will be doing:
- Support the Health and Safety manager in driving a Health Safety First culture across the business.
- Work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to undertake and implement Risk Assessments and Safe systems of work.
- Proactively apply the IS45001 standard updating and improving the OH&S management system.
- Manage the administration and co-ordination of all RUK H&S documentation.
- Perform audits/reviews on different areas of the business to determine H&S performance.
- Manage the due diligence of sub-contractor information.
- Maintain appropriate third-party H&S accreditations.
- Manage the appointment of health and safety representatives, first aiders and fire wardens.
- Maintain a robust system for recording accidents and injuries.
- Support the H&S manager with clear communication on health and safety matters.
You will ideally have:
- Good understanding of H&S legislation.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Confidence to communicate with employees at all levels of the business.
- Solution-focused mindset and confident in providing practical solutions in relation to H&S.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to develop and implement high quality risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Previous experience with OH&S management systems (ISO45001) is advantageous.
- Desirable - NEBOSH General Certificate or higher (or working towards).
