What you will be doing

Ricoh is currently recruiting for a Head of Skills & Learning Experience which will execute Ricoh’s learning strategy and learner experience agenda across EMEA, in line with the ‘Ricoh Promise’, ensuring a consistent, engaging and future focused approach to building the skills our colleagues need to thrive. The role shapes the end-to-end learner experience, ensuring high standards of quality, variety, accessibility and inclusivity.

  • Learner Experience & Brand
    • Define and deliver Ricoh’s EMEA‑wide learner experience strategy, ensuring consistency, personalisation and accessibility across all touchpoints.
    • Lead the establishment and embedding of learning design principles aligned with L&D’s strategic objectives.
    • Develop and implement a language localisation strategy to ensure inclusive and culturally relevant learning experiences.
  • Learning Design & Content Strategy
    • Lead the strategy for learning design, digital content creation, and content curation to deliver high quality, impactful and scalable learning solutions.
    • Oversee core skills learning for all employees, including induction, compliance learning design, digital skills, AI‑related capability and behavioural development.
    • Partner with the business to develop functional learning offerings.
    • Design and deliver reskilling and upskilling programmes that enable business transformation, talent mobility and future workforce readiness.
    • Set learning impact and effectiveness metrics and monitor L&D’s performance against those targets.
    • Ensure all learning touchpoints reflect Ricoh’s brand and EVP (which includes ‘Love to Grow’ as a key pillar).
  • Future-focused learning
    • Champion the adoption of new and emerging technologies (AI, automation, analytics, LXP enhancements) to continually improve the learner experience, including being the voice of the customer for our learning technologies platforms.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of the external learning technology market to ensure Ricoh remains competitive and future‑ready.
  • Skills Strategy And Experience
    • Lead the embedding of skills frameworks and define and drive forward Ricoh’s transition to a skills‑based organisation.
    • Bring new job architecture work to life for Ricoh employees through skills frameworks and technology.
    • Develop strategic business cases and long‑term capability plans with the Director of L&D EMEA (e.g. Internal Talent Marketplace).
    • Bring external insight, benchmarking and challenge to ensure Ricoh’s learning strategy reflects the best of the market and anticipates future trends.
    • Influence senior leaders to champion a skills‑first learning culture and ensure learning is positioned as a strategic enabler of organisational goals.
  • Team Leadership & Cross‑Functional Delivery
    • Lead a future focused team across EMEA, coaching and developing them and setting clear standards, ways of working and expectations.
    • Matrix manage across L&D, business functions and regions to drive alignment, simplification and shared priorities.
    • Understand and act on feedback re impact and effectiveness of learning.
    • Oversee complex, multi‑country strategic plans to deliver the MTS and ensure consistent execution.
    • Influence across the L&D team, inspiring others to deliver your strategy.

Ideal Candidate

  • Extensive experience in shaping and delivering a consistent learning experience in complex, multi‑country and multi‑language organisations.
  • Strong expertise in learning technologies and digital technologies, with a track record of leveraging emerging tools to transform a business at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to embed skills frameworks at scale, design reskilling/upskilling programmes and advance a skills‑based organisation.
  • Bring external insight and innovation into Ricoh—challenging existing practices and translating market‑leading experiences into strategies and solutions that elevate our colleague experience and build a future‑ready workforce.
  • Ability to lead matrix teams & orchestrate EMEA‑wide initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking and collaboration skills, skilled at engaging and influencing senior leaders, shaping business cases, and positioning learning as a critical enabler of organisational performance.
  • Understanding of accessibility, localisation, inclusivity and user centric design.
