A leading, award-winning and reputable property finance lender currently requires an experienced Credit Manager for its bridging team. Competitive base salary, a comprehensive benefits package and bonus. Office based.
General Purpose
To assess, amend and sign off the completion of all bridging loans. Consideration of any other lending decisions where the role's sign off or expertise is required. Implement and manage the credit function and risk appetite for Bridging. Actively contribute to and apply the business risk appetite and lending criteria.
Main Duties
- Proactively manage the completion of loans by signing off in accordance with risk appetite, compliance, and criteria.
- Provide feedback to Management and Bridging Underwriters on the quality of the loans and underwriting that you review, including training and continuous professional development to them.
- Continuously review the quality of the enquiries into the business to provide feedback monthly which will drive the risk and product strategy.
- Conduct a regular audit of pipeline and loan book in Bridging, reporting to the board monthly on risk and general findings.
- Supervise the allocated live loans with the portfolio managers for Bridging loans.
- Oversee the ongoing allocation of the loan mentor system, including allocating newly completed loans within 4 hours of completion.
- Arrange and manage the monthly update and review meetings of the same.
- Support with the collection or extensions of defaulting loans where required.
- Approve extensions, top up and rewrite terms for Bridging loans.
- Member of the credit and risk committee, with a view to taking on the agenda and responsibility of the committee meetings and mandate.
- Sign off loans as per the credit mandate for Bridging.
- Support the development and integration of the CRM system across the business in partnership with the system project manager and developer to drive efficiencies and productivity for the business.
- Continuously review and improve the policies and procedure manuals within the business to drive productivity and efficiency in Bridging.
- Support with the training and development of Underwriters and Portfolio managers to ensure they understand and can effectively use the lending documents, apply relevant criteria, and risk analysis.
- Support with the management and selection of the Asset Manager and Property Surveyor external panel and providers.
- Continuously review and provide input on amendments to the Credit Policy and Mandates, including allocation and management of the same across the Underwriters.
- Regularly audit and review completions and redemptions to check adherence with the Company’s policies and procedures, conditions subsequent and general best practice and regulatory requirements.
