Rico Facilities Limited is recruiting an experienced floor fitter to join our Projects Team delivering planned refurbishments and fit outs across residential care, supported living, offices and light commercial sites. The core of this role is professional installation of safety vinyl flooring systems, including:
- Cap and cove detail
- Flat fit anti slip vinyl with hot welds
- Polyflor and Altro type products
- Full floor preparation including screeding and feathering
There will be some multi-skill work on projects, but flooring is the primary focus of the role.
What you will do
- Install safety vinyl floors to drawings and specifications including cap and cove and flat fit with hot welded seams.
- Carry out floor preparation including mechanical prep, levelling, screeding and feathering to achieve the correct finish.
- Set out areas, measure accurately and manage materials against budgets to minimise waste.
- Complete occasional multi-skill tasks that support the project such as basic joinery, minor making good and finishing around your flooring works.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area at all times.
- Keep daily records and photographs of works, including sub floor condition and finished floors.
- Support RAMS briefings, toolbox talks, permits to work and point of work assessments.
- Coordinate with project managers and site leads to meet programme dates and quality standards.
- Achieve snag free handovers and provide straightforward handover information when required.
Skills and qualifications
- Proven experience as a floor fitter on refurb or fit out projects.
- Strong competence in:
- Cap and cove installations
- Flat fit anti slip vinyl with hot welds
- Polyflor or Altro type safety flooring
- Sub floor preparation including screeding and feathering

Essential requirements
- Own hand tools and cordless kit suitable for professional flooring work.
- Full UK driving licence and willing to work away when projects require.
- Willing to undertake a DBS check funded by the company.
- Must be willing to work away.
Salary and benefits
£45,000 to £47,000 per year depending on skills and experience. Paid travel, accommodation and subsistence when working away. Statutory PPE provided plus project specific training and upskilling as needed. Structured programmes, clear scopes and support from an experienced delivery team.
