Rickmansworth School is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer with a strong focus on supporting our Pupil Premium students, to join our already successful Pastoral team. In this role, you will work closely with students eligible for Pupil Premium Grant funding, ensuring they receive the support needed to achieve the best possible outcomes.

The Pastoral Support Officer will be highly skilled in multitasking and will have a proven track record in key aspects of the role. While experience in a similar position within the education sector is preferred, we are also open to candidates from other sectors who possess the relevant skills. Training will be provided for exceptional applicants who demonstrate the potential to excel in this important role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral support to students, with a strong focus on those eligible for Pupil Premium funding.
  • Work closely with the Pastoral team to monitor student wellbeing and progress and to remove barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external partners as appropriate to support pupil outcomes.
  • Maintain appropriate records and contribute to school reporting as required.
  • Engage in training and professional development opportunities offered by the school.

Selection Process:

We are required for only shortlisted candidates to conduct online searches about an applicant as part of our shortlisting process in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance 2024 in order to identify any incidents or concerns which are publicly available online. By signing the declaration on application you will be agreeing to the acknowledgement that such searches will be conducted as part of the shortlisting process. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the school where there will be a number of related tasks, details of which will be discussed on the day. Interviews will be held with the Headteacher and possibly another member of the SLT.
