We are looking for an experienced and passionate Learning & Development Manager to lead the delivery and coordination of our Learning & Development strategy across the group. Reporting into the People Director, you will translate people and learning strategy into meaningful, high-quality programmes that drive performance, progression and engagement. You will play a vital role in developing confident leaders, capable managers and engaged teams in a fast-paced, multi-site hospitality environment.
This role will play a central part in embedding our service standards and product knowledge, ensuring every guest enjoys a unique, warm and memorable experience, wherever they encounter the brand. You will ensure learning is not theoretical, but lived — visible in behaviours, confidence and consistency across our restaurants, accommodation and support teams.
This is a hands-on, largely field-based role, working closely with operational leaders and site teams to translate commercial priorities into practical learning that supports performance on the ground. You will bring a strong understanding of hospitality operations, balancing commercial awareness with a genuine passion for service and people development, helping teams maximise their potential while delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery and coordination of the group Learning & Development strategy across a multi-site hospitality business.
Ensure every employee has access to a tailored learning programme aligned to their role, experience and career aspirations.
Deliver engaging learning through a blend of face-to-face, on-the-job and digital approaches.
Support managers in embedding learning into everyday leadership, performance and development conversations.
Translate service expectations into practical, behaviour-led training that is visible in day-to-day operations.
Work alongside site leaders to observe, coach and reinforce service excellence on the floor.
Design and deliver distinctive hospitality training programmes that combine service excellence, product knowledge and culinary craft.
Develop structured apprenticeship and early-career pathways that support progression, capability building and long-term talent development.
Create clear learning journeys that support frontline teams, chefs and managers at different career stages.
Build a sustainable talent pipeline by identifying, developing and nurturing future hospitality leaders and specialists.
Experience and Skills:
Proven experience in a Learning & Development or training role, ideally within hospitality, leisure, retail or another customer-facing, multi-site environment.
Strong understanding of hospitality operations, service standards and the behaviours that create memorable guest experiences.
Experience designing and delivering practical, field-based training programmes for frontline teams, supervisors and managers.
Ability to translate commercial and operational priorities into engaging, relevant learning that drives performance.
Experience working closely with operational leaders, building trusted relationships and influencing without authority.
Knowledge of apprenticeship frameworks and early-career development pathways, with experience coordinating or supporting apprenticeship programmes.
Confident facilitator and coach, comfortable delivering training in live operational environments.
Experience using learning technology, digital platforms or blended learning approaches to support consistency and accessibility.
Strong organisational and planning skills, able to manage multiple sites, priorities and stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, with the presence and credibility to engage teams at all levels.
A hands-on, proactive approach, with the flexibility and resilience required for a field based hospitality role.
Genuine passion for people development, hospitality and continuous improvement.
