You will be employed under a permanent contract for 44 hours per week, available on nights. The salary ranges from £12.25 to £13.25 per hour, depending on experience.
Shockerwick House is an historic building that has been lovingly converted into a care facility, offering nursing and residential care, convalescence, palliative, short stays for a minimum of one week and day care. The 17th-century house is set in twelve acres of wheelchair-friendly gardens, with an orangery and vegetable plot. Residents enjoy beautifully appointed rooms, secure entry and exit systems, a 24-hour call system, TV and telephone in every bedroom, special diets, oak-panelled dining rooms, hot and cold food options, snacks and drinks throughout the day and night, relaxation sessions, manicures, foot spas, arts and crafts and musical afternoons.

Responsibilities
- Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
- Support with clinical duties, including supporting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans and ensure accurate record keeping
- Lead and manage a team of Care Assistants, including all shift handovers
- Help train and supervise new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
- Build relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
- Assist residents with a range of personal care duties
Key Skills / Qualifications
- Completed or working towards an NVQ3 in care (we can support you to finish your qualification)
- Motivated, positive, with great interpersonal skills and a passion for working in a close-knit team; a pivotal role in running a unit, working with the Nurse to aid with clinical duties for the home
- Previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges; a genuine passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving them kindness, personalised support and dignity
