Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assist all aspects of nursing care/activities within the home.
- With the team, create and update individual care plans for residents, maintaining clear, accurate and up-to-date medication records.
- Ensure correct staffing levels through efficient management of rotas; maintain adequate staffing at all times.
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to the team, promoting residents’ independence, choice and dignity.
- Build lasting relationships with residents and their families, and foster a sense of community within the home.
- Develop strong relationships with local partners and liaise with them to raise the home’s profile in the local area and beyond.
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- A Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin and a commitment to adhering to the NMC Codes of Conduct and ongoing professional development.
- Understanding of the benefits of high-quality nursing care to residents’ lives; champion independence, choice and dignity.
- Up-to-date knowledge of tissue viability, infection control and care planning.
- Effective communicator able to build strong, honest relationships with residents and families.
- Natural leader ready to share clinical experience; able to lead, mentor a team, delegate effectively and promote excellent customer service.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workload.
