Location: South Street, Letcombe Regis, OX12 9RG, Richmond Village Letcombe

Salary: £15.65 per hour, Starter Bonus of £1,000*

Contract: Full Time 40hrs, Permanent, full‑time (40 hours per week), 4 days (4 × 10‑hour shifts) between 07:00 and 20:00

Shift policy: No split shifts & no late nights

Welcome Bonus: £1,000* (paid after 4 weeks’ service, subject to deductions for tax and NI, terms & conditions apply)

As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences across the Richmond Village Letcombe community. Your responsibilities include:

  • Catering to residents across the Village (care home, serviced suites, restaurant/spa, and other events)
  • Preparing and cooking food in accordance with food hygiene regulations
  • Being aware of residents, villagers and spa clients’ dietary needs and responding to menu requests
  • Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals on the hotplate as required
  • Ensuring that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention to perishable (high risk) goods
  • Maintaining a welcoming, safe and compliant dining environment
  • Helping to keep the kitchen clean and hygienic

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed for This Role:

  • Passionate about food, you’ll have experience working in a professional kitchen, ideally catering for customers with special dietary requirements.
  • You should have an understanding of health and safety procedures and hold an NVQ or equivalent City & Guilds and CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Award or equivalent.
  • You possess an innovative yet organised approach to cooking, remain calm during busy service, work well with others, and strive to create an excellent dining experience.
