Contract: Bank Contract.
Pay: £12.95 per hour.
Shift patterns: 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. Shift length: 12 hours for covering absences and holidays.
Availability: Monday to Sunday for urgent cover.
Role Overview
Respond to all requests for security services, operate systems, maintain accurate logs and reports; follow processes and procedures, assuring the safety and welfare of all staff, patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Recognise and respond in an appropriate and proportionate manner to any situation that may threaten safety, security or well-being.
- Maintain effective logs and records of activity and promote the seamless flow of information.
- Provide physical security presence in and around reception areas as directed by the Security Supervisor.
- Present for duty in a timely manner, dressed and equipped to the highest professional standards.
- Assist in monitoring and controlling access to the premises and administer the ID access control system.
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and Environmental safety requirements.
- Maintain the condition and ensure the suitability and integrity of all equipment issued.
- Assist with inspections of emergency and other equipment, including first aid.
- Carry out regular internal and external patrols of all hospital premises.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security role, ideally hospital or hospitality security.
- Must hold a valid SIA Licence.
- Customer service skills.
- Experience in CCTV operation is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- IT literacy – knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
