Beacher Hall Care Home, 42 Bath Road, Reading RG1 6PG

Salary: £12.25 - £13.25

Permanent contract, 38 hours per week

Located near the centre of Reading, Beacher Hall offers 24‑hour nursing care and support for those 18 and over with a range of needs. This includes residents living with complex needs and neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, respiratory conditions, Parkinson’s and acquired brain injuries. Both long‑term, short‑stay and rehabilitation care are available. The home is a converted listed building providing a relaxing environment with a physiotherapy gym, landscaped gardens, lounge and en‑suite bedrooms with TV and telephone. Residents enjoy balanced, nutritious meals, sensory art classes, music therapy, and regular trips and outings.

Responsibilities:

  • Run morning and afternoon activity sessions.
  • Produce and update an activity planner for the home, working within a set activities budget.
  • Organise birthday surprises for residents.
  • Liaise with external companies and performers from the local community to organise days out/events at the home.
  • Organise one‑to‑ones with residents, using reminiscence tools, puzzles, reading or just a cup of tea and chat.
  • Support the home with social media channels as required.

  • You are a creative thinker with plenty of ideas, able to manage budgets and maintain paperwork, and effectively prioritise tasks.
