Role Overview

As Programme Director you will play a key role in shaping how our Internal Products and Platforms function and operate by building and scaling product and technology teams within our Global Capability Centre (BCC) in India. You will also help drive the strategy that supports the transformation of our network capabilities so our technology services are resilient, secure, and fit for the future. This role links directly to our mission because it is about creating better outcomes for customers through stronger ways of working, better delivery discipline, and high performing teams that can deliver what our business and customers need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement target operating models with clear ways of organising people, processes and governance for both Networks and the BCC.
  • Build practical delivery plans, including roadmaps, milestones and resource plans that align to strategic priorities.
  • Set up governance that supports clear decision making, strong risk control, and transparent reporting.
  • Establish product teams and capabilities with pillar leads, defining skills, structures and delivery practices.
  • Oversee execution to deliver outcomes on time and within budget, including proactive dependency, risk and issue management.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement using data, metrics and retrospectives to improve delivery and customer outcomes.
  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery management, providing clear stakeholder updates, essential documentation, and delivery assurance.
  • Support delivery in a global environment, working across the UK and India with a focus on partnership, clarity and momentum.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience establishing or scaling high functioning technology teams within a global capability centre (GCC), offshore delivery centre (ODC) or similar model.
  • A strong track record of designing and implementing target operating models and practical governance frameworks.
  • Experience planning and delivering large scale technology change programmes, including building roadmaps, managing milestones and driving execution.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, influencing senior leaders up to CIO level.
  • Financial and commercial awareness, including budget oversight, business case thinking and value realisation.
  • Confidence working across global, distributed and multicultural teams, with willingness to travel when needed.
  • A commitment to working with integrity, due skill and diligence, and keeping customer fairness at the centre of change.

Benefits

  • 25 days holiday, increasing through length of service, with option to buy or sell.
  • Enhanced pension and life insurance.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Access to our health and wellbeing services.
  • Discounts on Bupa products and services.
