Location: Richmond Village, Painswick, Stroud Road, GL6 6UL

Salary: £14.40 per hour

Contract: Permanent - Full Time

Shift Hours: 10:00–20:00, 12:00–20:00, 07:00–15:00 (Alternate Weekends – no split shifts)

Welcome Bonus: One-off Starter Bonus of £1,000, payable after four weeks’ service, subject to tax and NI deductions. Terms and conditions apply.

Job Summary: As a Chef at Richmond Village Painswick, you will provide high-quality catering to residents and guests, ensuring food safety, hygiene and dietary requirements are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide catering for residents and spa clients across the village.
  • Prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
  • Respond to dietary needs and menu requests of residents, villagers and spa clients.
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals, including hotplate service.
  • Ensure food is used within the prescribed period, paying particular attention to perishables.
  • Maintain a welcoming, safe, and compliant dining environment.
  • Keep the kitchen and prep area clean and hygienic.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Passionate about food, with experience working in a professional kitchen, preferably catering for customers with special dietary requirements.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures; NVQ or equivalent City & Guilds and CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Award or equivalent is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational ability, innovative approach, and calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to work as a team.
  • DBS check required; cost covered by Bupa.
