Nursing Associate (Outpatient Department)

Locations: Cromwell Hospital, London (SW5 0TU) and Basinghall Clinic, 4 Basinghall St, London (EC2V 5BQ)

Full time – 37.5 hours per week

Paying from £32,920 up to £35,320 per annum, dependent on experience

Role Overview

As a Nursing Associate you will be joining a state‑of‑the‑art clinic with access to world‑class diagnostics and consultant‑led services. We seek a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our multidisciplinary team at Cromwell Hospital and Basinghall Clinic, an advanced outpatient diagnostics centre.

In this role you will play a crucial part in delivering safe, effective and person‑centred care, working collaboratively with consultants, nurses and the administrative team to provide an exceptional patient experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver high‑quality, compassionate care to patients under the supervision of registered nurses and in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Code and Standards of Proficiency for Nursing Associates.
  • Complete nursing risk assessments using recognised risk assessment tools.
  • Assist in implementing appropriate actions to meet the specific physical, emotional, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual needs of individuals and carers.
  • Contribute to the planning of care delivery in association with the Registered Nurse.
  • Contribute to ongoing assessment, recognising when referral to others for reassessment and action is necessary.
  • Monitor the condition and health needs of people within their care on a continual basis in partnership with MDT team members, families and carers.
  • Administer suppositories, medication via oral, topical and inhalation routes, and injections using subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular routes.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, providing clear verbal, digital or written information and instructions when sharing information, delegating, or handing over responsibility for care.
  • Set SMART objectives with support from your Team Leader.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of consent principles and ensure valid consent is obtained prior to nursing and care procedures.
  • Pursue development opportunities that impact Department, Quality and Patient experience.

What You’ll Bring

  • Registered Nursing Associate Foundation qualification.
  • ILS training.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Nursing Associate in a clinical environment.
  • Experience in an outpatient and orthopaedic setting.
  • Competence with venepuncture and immunisation training.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer literate and able to manage electronic patient records.
