Position: Kitchen Assistant at Broad Oak Manor Care Home, Arnold Lane, Sutton at Hone, Kent DA4 9HF.

Salary: £12.60 - £13.60 per hour. Full time 28 hours a week with flexible shift patterns 7am‑7pm or broken into 7am‑1pm, 1pm‑7pm. Flexible including weekend work. Experience ideal but not necessary. Must be flexible and able to work in a care kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
  • Assist chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and keep preparation areas clean and tidy.
  • Monitor stock rotation, comply with company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines.
  • Assist with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Excellent service delivery at each meal and make residents feel at home.
  • High standards in and around the home, ensuring residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience.
  • Comfortable communicating with the wider kitchen and care home teams.
