As an Activity Co-ordinator, you’ll help us make a difference to our residents, ensuring they get the mental and physical stimulation that they need to remain healthy, fulfilled, and happy - and you’ll have so much fun along the way. We tailor our residents' activities plan, so one day you could be helping put on musical acts or days out, the next you could be putting on exercise classes, hosting an arts and crafts afternoon or maybe something completely different (organising birthday surprises for our residents is always a favourite).
You’ll help us make health happen by:
- Identifying engaging activities for our residents through careful assessment, observation, and conversation, while keeping precise records.
- Connecting with residents, their families, friends, and colleagues to gain a deep understanding of each resident's interests, abilities, and challenges, fostering active participation.
- Supporting the Head of Activities in orchestrating special events like garden parties, concerts, and excursions, always mindful of the budget and meticulous in our financial tracking.
- Aiding residents in personal tasks such as letter writing, shopping, and reading, and encouraging them to engage in their individual hobbies.
- Regularly refreshing and promoting the activities program within the village and the local community.
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role:
- Previous experience organising events, would be advantageous, especially if you have experience working with the elderly and/or vulnerable.
- Your positive attitude and energetic, humorous nature are key to inspiring residents.
- With empathy and friendliness, you effortlessly forge enduring professional relationships with colleagues, residents, their families, and the local community.
