Job Responsibilities
- Collecting dirty and soiled laundry from the Care Floor
- Washing napkins, kitchen cloths and SPA towels
- Collecting clothing and bedding from residents' apartments
- Washing, drying and ironing all laundry to the required standards and returning it to the rooms
- Ensuring all clothing is labelled and in good condition
- Cleaning the laundry area daily (floor, window sills, tops of dryers and washers)
- Covering for annual leave/sickness as needed
- Completing general housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, removing bins, cleaning toilets and bathrooms, as directed
- Reporting all safety hazards to management, ensuring Health and Safety standards and COSHH are adhered to at all times
Key Skills / Qualifications
- Experience in a housekeeping or domestic cleaning role, with a basic understanding of infection control, COSHH and compliance standards
- Friendly and approachable, able to build long‑lasting professional relationships with colleagues, residents and their families
- Understanding the importance of maintaining a safe working environment with a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication skills, able to work well as part of a team, across functions and services
- Completion of a DBS check as part of the recruitment process (cost covered by Bupa)
