We are recruiting for a part time Bursary Officer for Thursdays and Fridays (14.25 hours per week, term time based, 40 weeks per year). The successful candidate will work within the Student Services Team to provide a responsive, effective service to students of the College in relation to personal, financial and practical advice. They will also provide support to students by managing the administration of Student Support Funds, with the aim of minimising the impact of vulnerability and socio-economic disadvantage on outcomes.

We are looking for someone with the experience of working with young people and adults in an educational setting. Excellent communication skills and experience of providing exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers are the key to this role. The work involves providing financial advice; therefore, some understanding of financial systems as well as experience of working with Excel spreadsheets is also essential.

Please note: for individuals who start a term time only role after 1st September, the salary will be pro-rated from the start date to the end of this academic year (31st August 2026). This ensures that the correct entitlement to pay and holiday pay relative to the portion of the year worked. This will be paid in equal monthly instalments until 31 August. The salary will revert to the normal arrangements as stated in the advert at the start of the following academic year.

Richmond upon Thames College is part of the Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge College Group (HRUC) and is one of London's most successful Further Education Colleges providing education and training to 16-19 year olds and adults from across Richmond, London and Surrey, for over 80 years. We have opened a new building in 2020 and developed a brand-new technology-focused STEM Centre in 2024. This exciting and innovative new learning environment is located within the grounds of the current college site, so remains convenient for public transport links - it is adjacent to the A316 and just a short walk from Twickenham rail station and a number of regular London bus routes.
