We are pleased to announce that we are looking to recruit an experienced Practice Nurse with proven general practice treatment room duties, preferably with long term conditions knowledge or a willingness to train in LTCs, to join our existing nursing team and support our growth and expansion. We would be willing to hear from newly qualified general practice nurses who are keen to develop and grow. As a practice, we encourage growth, training and investment in all our staff; therefore, training in all of the many varied treatment room duties, chronic diseases and target areas will be standard for a newly qualified nurse.
This is a part-time position offering 23 hours per week over 3 days with the opportunity to participate with your team members in extended access hours. Remuneration is dependent on your experience and the general practice duties you can bring at outset, annual leave is generous and increases with length of service. We consider ourselves competitive in both of these areas and focus heavily on supporting the health and wellbeing of all our staff.
Main duties of the job:
- Ensuring the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the whole practice population, together with the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients with long term conditions.
- You will work collaboratively with the whole general practice team under the guidance and supervision of our Nurse Manager to meet the needs of our patients, and to support the delivery of our policy and procedures through a team approach.

Richmond Surgery is an expanding, forward-thinking practice based in a quiet suburb of Fleet, Hampshire. We are part of Fleet Primary Care Network and are lead practice for the PCN. As an individual practice, we have 15,200 registered patients and growing. We are a busy surgery, yet all our teams, both clinical and admin, are supportive, friendly and work closely together to ensure excellent service provision to our patients. We are a GMS Practice with 4 full-time GP Partners, 5 nursing team members, Physician Assistant, MSK and FCP practitioners, Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioners and a team of Admin and Clinical Care Coordinators who support the nursing team. Our clinical system is EMIS Web, ICE and Docman. We are high QoF achievers and rated Good for CQC. We receive a high level of praise from patients and feedback is excellent.
Job responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, evidence-based effective nursing care to the whole practice population, including the assessment of patients with chronic diseases, subject to experience and/or training.
- You will demonstrate critical thinking and skills in decision making, and work collaboratively with the whole general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.
- You should also thrive in working within a professional team, be a team player and supportive to all others.
Remuneration will be in line with the experience you can bring. We offer generous pay and annual leave.
