Purpose of the job
The Marketing Manager – Engagement is responsible for creating compelling content and storytelling that connect with key audiences - including participants, volunteers, staff, and the wider research community. The role ensures that all communications across organic social media, campaigns, internal channels, and content-led SEO are consistent, authentic, and engaging. By leading content creation, campaign messaging, and internal communications, the postholder will strengthen participant engagement and brand trust. They will also support the Marketing Assistant in developing execution skills across social, email, and content, embedding high-quality engagement across all touchpoints.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Develop and deliver content-led SEO strategy across multiple brands.
- Lead campaign creative and messaging development, ensuring alignment with brand strategy.
- Oversee QA for email marketing campaigns to ensure accuracy and brand consistency.
- Ownership and management of the Trials4Us website including content creation, uploads and regular maintenance and improvements.
- Support Marketing Assistant's upskilling in content creation, social media, and email.
- Manage internal communications, including newsletters and intranet updates.
- Oversee organic social media channel strategy, posting calendar, and train Marketing Assistant in execution.
Skills And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, relevant experience or above.
- Professional qualification e.g. CIM. Level 4 communications or related field or above.
- Proven experience in content creation, social media management, and campaign strategy.
- Excellent copywriting, editing, and messaging development skills.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices, CMS platforms, and email marketing systems.
- A good understanding and application of social media marketing across various platforms.
- Experience managing suppliers to create video content for use on websites and social media.
- Strong relationship-building skills, capable of working with stakeholders throughout the organisation.
- Experienced in database management / CRM.
- Extensive experience in direct marketing campaigns utilising Email and Social media channels.
- 6+ years of experience in marketing, predominantly B2C but B2B also an advantage.
- Experience in volunteer recruitment and understanding of medical writing/ethics in line with regulations when recruiting for clinical trials.
- Ability to impact business performance through marketing campaigns through variety of marketing channels.
- Website content management to align with business objectives, campaigns and studies.
