JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a highly competent Accounts Assistant to assist the Finance Team at our busy NI office.
The role will involve engagement with our NI Finance and Commercial team covering all aspects of the finance function.
If you are looking for a challenge, then this role is for you! This role is for a period of 12 months to cover a maternity leave.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribution to management of the sales ledger, including credit control duties, recording customer receipts, management of EDI, preparation of monthly direct debits and issuance of customer statements.
- Supporting the maintenance of the stock purchase ledger and relevant order control schedules, including processing and recording purchase orders, recording shipping and receipt details, and tracking orders from key suppliers and intercompany movements.
- Supporting the maintenance of the non-stock purchase ledger, including recording all purchase invoices received, liaising with budget holders for approvals, processing and coding of invoices, creation and upkeep of the purchase order system, creating monthly payment runs, and dealing with supplier queries as they arise.
- Collation of monthly recharges for submission to the relevant brand owners.
- Creation of various daily and month‑end reports, including daily sales, FOC, depletion reports, stock report, and debtors report, ensuring appropriate monthly reconciliations are performed.
- Ensuring invoice financing declarations are made daily and monthly, and processing payments and drawdowns to manage cash flow.
- Taking a hands‑on approach to all aspects of the business as part of a small finance team, working closely with management, logistics partners and the sales team.
- Assisting with the adequacy of accounting internal controls and ongoing compliance.
- Working closely with the Finance Director and Finance Manager in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounts team, with at least one year in a senior role.
