RHACC is a vibrant adult education college with a diverse and creative student body. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Art Technician to support our art and design programmes, with particular emphasis on woodwork and textiles (sewing).
About the Role
As an Art Technician, you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of our creative courses. You’ll be responsible for:
- Preparing, maintaining, and organising tools, materials, and equipment
- Providing practical support to tutors and learners in the workshop and studio environment
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed and risk assessments are up to date
- Supporting with the setup and takedown of student exhibitions or displays
- Assisting with stock control, ordering supplies, and general workshop/studio maintenance
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has practical experience in woodwork and sewing, either professionally or personally
- Is confident using a range of workshop tools and textile equipment (e.g. sewing machines, cutting tools, etc.)
- Has a good understanding of health and safety in a creative workshop or studio environment
- Works well independently and as part of a team, with good communication and organisational skills
- Ideally has previous experience in an educational or creative environment
