Based full time at our Head Office in Richmond (TW9 1EG), this role offers the opportunity to be closely involved in supporting the finance function across a diverse portfolio of UK branded hotel properties. Previous experience in the hospitality sector is advantageous, but not necessary, so if you are meticulous and detail focused with previous accounting experience, then we look forward to hearing from you!
About the Role
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the accuracy, integrity and timely delivery of management accounts across the business. Working closely with Finance Managers and Regional Accountants, you’ll ensure costs are correctly accrued, balances are reconciled, and financial controls are consistently applied. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced finance function, requiring strong attention to detail, sound technical knowledge, and the ability to work to month‑end and statutory deadlines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Checking and posting financial batches to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Completing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Posting revenue journals in Sage following final validation checks.
- Preparing and posting accruals and prepayment journals to ensure correct period accounting.
- Posting payroll journals and supporting payroll‑related reconciliations.
- Preparing depreciation journals and completing fixed asset reconciliations.
- Reviewing monthly profit and loss accounts and supporting variance analysis.
- Reconciling intercompany accounts and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Completing monthly balance sheet reviews and ensuring balance sheet integrity.
- Preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
The successful applicant will be offered a role subject to eligible Right to Work and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
About You
You’re a detail‑focused finance professional with experience in a finance or accountancy role, bringing a strong track record of accurately processing financial transactions and maintaining robust financial controls. We’re looking for someone who has:
- Practical experience with balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- A methodical, deadline‑driven approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Ideally, progress towards a professional accounting qualification (CIMA or ACCA).
- Strong IT capability, including proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
