We’re hiring in West Dunbartonshire! Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day? We’re looking for two enthusiastic and compassionate Support Practitioners to join our teams on a full‑time basis (39 hours per week). One position is based in Dumbarton and the other in Balloch. No previous care experience? No problem! We hire based on your values and transferable skills. Plus, we’ll provide you with all the training you need, including the chance to gain your SVQ qualification and grow your career with us.
The Role
The people we support have unique interests and passions that make every day exciting and different. Whether it’s attending clubs, enjoying a quiet moment at the library, catching up with friends over lunch, or even taking trips away, you’ll have the chance to help them stay connected and live life to the fullest. Your support will make a meaningful impact by reducing social isolation, promoting independence, and building confidence. The individuals we support have a range of needs, including mental health challenges, autism, learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and behaviours of concern. As a Support Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in assisting with daily living tasks like meal preparation, medication, attending appointments, and managing finances. You’ll also support with moving and handling, personal care, and building emotional well‑being. Beyond the practical tasks, you’ll help support meaningful relationships with family, friends, and the wider community. Some individuals have their own mobility cars and love exploring new places! A full‑UK manual driving licence is a bonus but not essential.
To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:
- Have an empathetic and caring nature.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence in using computers.
- Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
- Good organisational skills.
Shift Patterns
Our dedicated team provides support 7 days a week with shift patterns including early, day, late and sleep‑over shifts. During your shift you may be providing support to 3 to 6 individuals who all live close by, with travel time between supports factored into your shift.
