We’re currently recruiting for a Chambers Administrator to join our dedicated team of administration and business service professionals. Richmond Chambers LLP is a multi-award-winning and innovative partnership of specialist immigration barristers. With offices in London and Montreux, we are widely recognised as the UK’s leading immigration barrister law firm. Our team of 19 barristers, supported by experienced legal associates and administrators, advises and represents clients in relation to all areas of personal and business immigration law. We provide expert legal services directly to members of the public, as well as to other legal professionals. Our clients include individuals and businesses based both in the UK and internationally.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Client and enquiry management – answering and directing telephone calls, recording new enquiries accurately, and assigning them to the appropriate practice team.
  • Client onboarding – preparing and issuing engagement letters and assisting with the setup of new client matters.
  • Financial administration – issuing invoices, monitoring fee receipts, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Diary and meeting coordination – entering key dates into chambers’ diaries, scheduling in-person and remote conferences, and managing conference room usage.
  • Front of house duties – preparing conference rooms, welcoming clients and visitors, and providing refreshments to ensure a professional and welcoming experience.
  • Document management – printing, scanning, photocopying, and filing documents; assembling and indexing electronic bundles.
  • Post and courier handling – collecting, logging, and distributing incoming post, and arranging dispatch of outgoing correspondence and courier deliveries.
  • General administrative support – assisting with the smooth operation of chambers, contributing to team projects, and supporting the barristers and management team as required.

Qualifications

  • Educated to A-level standard (or equivalent vocational qualification).
  • A strong academic record demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a professional office environment – preferably within legal, financial, or other client-facing sectors – is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated commitment to developing a career in administration within a professional services environment.
  • High level of computer literacy, including confidence using Google Workplace apps and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to administrative tasks.

Hours

Working hours are 9:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid role. Our chambers administrators are primarily based in our modern head office, located right in the heart of Covent Garden, London. There will be opportunities for some home working on successful completion of an initial 6-month probation period.
