Saint Cecilia's is a successful, inclusive secondary school in Southwest London, specialising in Music and Mathematics. The Sixth Form Academic Mentor will support students’ academic progress and help them overcome barriers to learning.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with teachers and students to identify learning barriers.
- Plan and deliver small group or one‑to‑one tutoring sessions to support academic progress.
- Organise private study periods after school.
- Attend two days of term‑time activities each year, including exam results day and evening events.
- Collaborate with the teaching and support teams to maintain high attainment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage students and teacher colleagues.
- Pro‑active planning and delivery of tailored academic support.
- Excellent computer literacy and organisational skills.
- Prior experience in a similar supporting role is desirable.
Salary and Contract
- Starting salary: Scale 6 point 18 of the NJC pay scale, equivalent to £37,508 full‑time.
- Pro‑rated salary: £32,986.
- Employment type: permanent term‑time, 39 weeks per year (including two extra days).
- To start: September 2026.
