Cook – Ashcroft Technology Academy
Pay: £16 per hour. Term time only.
Hours (term time): 35 hours per week (7am to 2:30pm daily with 30‑minute unpaid break); 25 hours per week (9:30am to 2:30pm daily); 12 hours per week (term time, 7am to 1pm + 8:30am to 2:30pm). 2 days a week – batch cooking only. Additional flexibility between the hours above may be considered. Some paid overtime is required on occasions.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and cook meals for students and staff.
- Serve food during lunch service.
- Assist with monitoring stock levels and ensuring all kitchen equipment is suitably maintained.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and compliance.
- Prepare large-volume batch cooking meals, including meat, vegetarian and some vegan options.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a pressured kitchen environment.
- Good organisation and communication skills.
- Relevant catering qualifications (training and support will be provided).
