School Community Playworker
£8,698 per annum (Salary Scale ID-3 FTE £30,225/ pro rata)
12 hours per week – with more available with agreement (2.45 pm – 5.45pm, four days per week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) – Term Time Only (38 Weeks)

Are you a dynamic, enthusiastic playworker passionate about making a difference in children's lives? Our thriving, oversubscribed after‑school Community Club is looking for a dedicated individual to join our dedicated team. As an extension of our school, our club is central to delivering our core vision: providing a "Happy, safe, learning" environment underpinned by our three pillars of Care, Courage, and Collaboration.
The Role
Working under the direction of the Club Managers and the Headteacher, you will help create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, play, and grow after the school day ends.
What we are looking for
- A genuine passion for caring for and educating children.
- A commitment to upholding and developing our school’s vision and values.
- An enthusiastic, proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
Successful applicants must already hold an NVQ 2/3 in Child Care (or equivalent) or be willing to gain this qualification as soon as possible. First Aid and Basic Food Handling qualifications would also be an advantage. In addition to possessing the qualifications and experiences relevant to the post (see person specification attached), the successful candidate will have a passion for enabling children to overcome their barriers and to succeed. The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents and education professionals is also a requirement. You must be willing to undertake professional development as required.
