Experienced Primary Teacher – Victoria Drive Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Required: September 2026 (Temporary for one year)
Victoria Drive is a warm, welcoming and inclusive Primary Pupil Referral Unit that works in partnership with Wandsworth Primary Schools to provide expert teaching and support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD). The unit’s core aim is to sustain very low levels of suspensions by promoting inclusion and strengthening schools’ capacity to respond to pupils’ needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver the National Curriculum for primary pupils, while also delivering specific programmes that develop the social and emotional skills of the pupils within the Pupil Referral Unit.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to support vulnerable children and, where appropriate, peripatetic support for pupils in their mainstream schools.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High level of resilience and commitment to team working.
- Experience of teaching within a specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health setting is not required.
- Required to hold DBS clearance prior to starting work.
