We are seeking an experienced primary teacher for the role of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties within Victoria Drive Primary Pupil Referral Unit. Temporary for one year, starting September 2026.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver the National Curriculum: primary curriculum.
- Deliver specific programmes aimed at developing social and emotional skills of pupils within the Pupil Referral Unit.
- Maintain very low levels of suspensions by promoting inclusion and strengthening schools’ capacity to respond to pupils’ needs.
- Work as part of a team to support vulnerable children.
- Provide occasional peripatetic support to pupils in mainstream schools.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Evidence of an outstanding record managing children with challenging behaviour and ensuring good progress.
- High level of resilience.
- Commitment to working as a team to support vulnerable children.
- DBS clearance prior to starting work.
- Experience of teaching within a specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health setting is not required.
