Biology Technician, Graveney School (Maternity Cover)£27,224 - £28,419 per annum (GPS4 [Spine Point 7-10)36 hours per weekTerm time only (39 weeks)To start January 2027 (An earlier start date can be considered)
We wish to appoint a Biology graduate to join our small team of experienced technicians.The successful candidate will require an excellent understanding of Science up to A-Level.Experience of working in a school laboratory or similar environment would be desirable.
Applicants will have:
- Ability to work methodically, paying particular attention to detail
- Good Interpersonal skills in order to relate effectively to teaching staff and students
- Ability to support students and teachers the preparation of practicals for Biology
- Written communication and numeracy skills
- Good ICT skills and willingness to learn new packages
- Appreciation of the routines required for laboratory preparation and adherence to good practice
- Able to work effectively as part of a team with a flexible approach to work
- Horticultural interest or experience would be an advantage
- **This is an event linked maternity cover position starting at the beginning of January 2027**
