Children's Social Workers - Family Help Service

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time (36 hours)

Up to £52,767 per annum (subject to experience) plus a £5,000 welcome bonus and a £1,000 retention payment every 2 years (pro rata for part‑time staff).

Location: Wandsworth, London

Additional benefits: £5,000 welcome bonus (paid in two instalments) and £1,000 retention bonus every 2 years for permanent staff only. Payment of Social Work England registration fee.

About the Role

You will walk alongside families through their most difficult moments and help them find strength, hope and solutions. You will work in a modern, collaborative environment with a stable, friendly team and strong, visible leadership. Supervision is regular, caseloads are manageable and your time with children and families is protected and purposeful.

Our Approach

Relationship‑based, systemic practice rooted in trust, consistency and co‑production. You will work alongside a multi‑agency team – Children’s Practitioners, Adult Mental Health Practitioners, Substance Misuse and Domestic Abuse Specialists, in‑house Family Therapy and Social Care CAMHS teams – creating a wraparound support network for families. You will develop and implement plans reflecting families’ voices and values under Child in Need, Child Protection or care proceedings.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England and successful completion of the ASYE.
  • Experience across voluntary and statutory settings.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with compassion, creativity and clarity.
  • A strong commitment to children and families and an advocacy for their rights.
