We are now recruiting variable hours (hourly-paid) tutors with current industry expertise in 3D modelling and design, using one or more of the following software:

  • Blender
  • Maya
  • AutoCAD
  • SketchUp
  • Unreal Engine

The Opportunity

You will teach short introductory courses and accredited awards delivered onsite in our specialist 3D suite. This is an excellent opportunity for practitioners who want flexible teaching hours and the chance to help develop new local talent for the creative economy.

What you will do:

  • Deliver engaging, practical sessions that build core 3D skills and confidence
  • Support learners to create portfolio-ready outcomes and understand progression routes (further study, employment, freelance/self-employment)
  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of course content and learning materials
  • Assess learner work where required and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Work collaboratively with Programme Managers and the wider team
  • Attend termly team meetings and participate in CPD/training to keep practice current

What we are looking for:

  • Strong, up-to-date skills in at least one listed 3D tool (additional tools welcome)
  • Ability to explain concepts clearly to mixed-level adult learners (beginners included)
  • Professional, reliable, learner-centred approach and a commitment to inclusive practice
  • Teaching qualification

Applicants should either hold a recognised teaching qualification, or be willing to undertake one (through the College or independently via another provider).

Why teach with us:

  • Teach in a new specialist 3D environment with creative-focused learners
  • Flexible hours across day, evening and weekend delivery
  • A supportive team environment with structured CPD and collaborative planning
  • The chance to make direct impact by developing industry-relevant skills and employability in local talent

About You

You will have excellent subject knowledge in 3D modelling/design and strong communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to adult learners with varying levels of experience. Ideally, you will also bring recent or relevant industry experience and can demonstrate a learner-centred approach that stretches and challenges individuals appropriately.

Desirable Qualifications And Experience:

  • Level 5 teaching qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ teaching experience
  • Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA/TAAQ or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this

If You Are Not Yet Fully Qualified To Teach:

Applicants with strong industry experience, some teaching/training experience, and the right approach are welcome. If you do not already hold the required teaching and assessing qualifications, you will need to undertake RHACC’s internal teacher training route, typically progressing through:

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training
  • TAQA Assessor qualification
  • Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training

This pathway is designed to support skilled practitioners to become confident, effective tutors in an adult learning environment.
