Richer Sounds are the UKs leading Hi-Fi, Home Cinema and TV specialists, and one of the largest Employee-Owned businesses in the UK. We are currently looking for a full-time Canteen Chef to join our onsite canteen team at our office/distribution centre in Openshaw, Manchester.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the Canteen Supervisor, including food preparation, cooking, cleaning and serving.
  • Assist with the preparation, setting up and serving of a variety of meals and snacks in line with food hygiene regulations.
  • Clean and safely store kitchen equipment and dining furniture as required in designated areas.
  • Assist with catering production and cooking duties for example meals, soup, sandwiches etc.
  • Keep on top of the stock rotation system and the appropriate storage of food goods and catering consumable stock.
  • Cashier duties and be responsible for operating a cashless register and catering system.
  • Cover the canteen's Supervisor and take the lead when they are not present.
  • Work in a safe and hygienic manner, assisting colleagues and ensuring compliance with food hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Provide a customer-focused service, which is courteous and responsive and meets the needs of the colleagues at all times.
  • Undertake similar tasks, including cleaning duties and deputising for other support colleagues, as may be determined by your line manager on occasion.

  • Excellent organisation and cleaning skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and enthusiasm for legendary customer service.
  • Personable and friendly to all colleagues, visitors and clients.
  • A willingness to be flexible & adaptable within the workplace.
  • Excellent attendance and timekeeping record.
  • The use of a vehicle is preferable but not essential.
  • The capacity to rarely cover weekends during peak trading periods where required (November/December).
  • Previous experience with food preparation is required, must have level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety.
