Tax Senior Analyst

Reports to: Tax Manager
Role Overview
The Tax Senior Analyst is a key member of the Richemont Americas tax team, responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of indirect tax reporting for the U.S. and Canada markets. This role involves a blend of compliance, analysis, and problem-solving, working closely with the Tax Manager to research complex tax issues, manage use tax accruals, and provide support for customer inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sales and use tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
β€’ Prepare and reconcile monthly sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
β€’ Thoroughly review monthly sales and use tax returns prepared by third-party providers, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
β€’ Manage the accurate and timely calculation and posting of use tax accruals on a monthly basis.
β€’ Review capital expenditure (capex) projects and calculate applicable use tax assessments, ensuring accurate tax treatment.
β€’ Serve as a primary point of contact for responding to tax inquiries and requests from state and local tax agencies, providing clear and concise information.
β€’ Proactively research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and identify potential tax savings opportunities.
β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, finance, and operations, to gather necessary data and support tax-related initiatives.
β€’ Assist with tax audits, preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
β€’ Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Tax Manager.
Qualifications
β€’ Bachelor\’s degree in Accounting or a related field
β€’ 6-10 years of progressive professional experience, with a strong focus on sales and use tax compliance. Prior experience within a tax or finance/accounting department is essential, with direct tax experience being highly preferred.
β€’ Strong technical knowledge of U.S. and Canadian sales and use tax laws and regulations.
β€’ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is essential.
β€’ Experience with SAP and Avalara is highly preferred.
β€’ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
β€’ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
β€’ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
