The Head of Information Technology leads IT support, application development, and infrastructure operations for Peter Millar’s UK region. Managing a small, hands-on team, the role operates at both the strategic and operational levels—keeping systems running, aligning UK technology with global standards set by US HQ teams, and shielding the team from non-IT demands.
This role is the key IT point of contact for the UK business, partnering with internal teams and vendors to deliver and maintain critical systems. This position will manage and facilitate collaboration between teams, departments, vendors and stakeholders to ensure proper scoping and project milestones are met.
- Lead all IT support, application development, and infrastructure activities for the UK.
- Run the UK IT function day-to-day while contributing to global projects and workstreams led by the US teams.
- Protect the team’s time and focus by filtering requests and keeping the team focused on the most critical IT/technology initiatives.
- Directly manage, mentor, and motivate a small but growing team, reprioritizing workloads as needs shift.
- Serve as a hands-on contributor, stepping in for support activities and project work when the workload requires it.
- Bridge the UK business and US teams, translating global standards into local execution.
- Own project delivery within committed schedule and quality, consistent with US-defined frameworks.
- Proven track record of team and individual performance assessments and improvement plans.
- Ability to set boundaries and protect team focus, pushing back diplomatically on non-IT requests.
- Ability to flex between regional leadership and individual contribution on global projects.
- Broad, hands-on knowledge across IT support, enterprise applications, and infrastructure.
- Solid experience in an IT management or leadership role, ideally leading a small or cross-functional team.
- Experience with SQL Server or other RDBMS, and with ERP, EDI, and supply chain systems (apparel a plus).
- Experience managing IT vendors; relevant IT certifications desirable.
